Start of work: Immediately  

End of contract:  1 Year Contract (possibility for renewal depend on funding)                      

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

CISP is an equal employment opportunity employer with its Headquarters in Rome. Currently CISP has various field offices, including a coordination office in Mogadishu. CISP Somalia carries out projects in areas of development and emergencies and CISP is always committed to provide quality, equitable, transparent and accountable services in the sectors of Education, protection, culture, Health and Nutrition. 

CISP is implementing projects funded by a number of different donors, such as UNICEF, EU, AICS, WFP. These projects, through direct implementation, are serving targeted communities in Mogadishu, Galkacyo, Hobyo, Gelinsoor, Dhusamareb, Guricel and Abudwak, while local partners support for community care project across Somalia.

CISP projects are implemented by a multi-disciplinary team, including program staff and operationally supported by the administration department based in Mogadishu and the field offices in Galmudug region and Garowe.

Job Purpose: To coordinate the development of programmes, with a specific focus on the protection sector, in terms of identifying partnership and funding opportunities, facilitating the development of new project ideas, coordinating and supporting proposal writing and need assessments.

This position has the overall responsibility of maintaining good representation of CISP in key meetings with donors, partners and relevant stakeholders.

Role and Responsibilities:

PROGRAMME DEVELOPMENT 

In ALL SECTORS including protection, health and nutrition, education: 

  • Represent CISP in key meetings with donors, partners and relevant stakeholders, including working groups.
  • Identify partnership and funding opportunities.
  • Facilitate the development of new project ideas.
  • Coordinate and support the writing of project proposals.
  • Organize need assessments.
  • Support the development of strategic documents for the Somalia Program.
  • Any other duties identified by supervisor.

 Specifically, in the PROTECTION SECTOR:

  • Support and participate in protection working groups where CISP has a facilitating or chairing role.
  • Support the promotion of the protection sector, with specific focus on Social Norms and Behavioural Change components in collaboration with other country offices.
  • Provide technical advice for the development of the protection country programme.
  • Lead the development of communication material and documents for disseminating of best practices.
  • Adapt and review implementing guides, documents and publications.
  • Support the collaboration with international partners, including universities.
  • Represent CISP during conferences/events on protection topics at regional level.

Profile Required:

Qualifications and experience:

  • University degree in social science, public health or other related fields.
  • At least 5 years experience in the field of program development, coordination and donor relationship with an INGO.
  • Experience (at least 2 years) in gender equality and protection programs.

 Skills:

  • Fluent in English both spoken and written,  
  • Strong computer skills particularly in MS Excel, literacy and numeracy
  • Excellent relations and communications skills, good team player, diplomatic and able to deal with a mixed cultural team. 
  • Accurate and precise attention to programme details
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently with flexibility to meet deadlines
  • Ability in networking and negotiation.
  • Have a valid certificate of good conduct.

Desirable:

  • Master degree in development studies
  • Knowledge of Somali language and Somalia culture/context
  • Experience in working in Somalia programs.
