Education

February 19, 2025 Galmudug

"I believe that the only way to actually develop our communities is by equipping them with the necessary skills. When individuals have the knowledge and skill to contribute meaningfully to their own growth and the growth of their communities, everyone can witness the remarkable progress."  Says Mr. Abdukadir, the Olad TVET Manager in Abudwak District in Galmudug State of Somalia.

Mr.Abdukadir is a prominent  figure in Abudwak District of Galmudug State, whose aim is to prepare individuals with specific skills and competencies relevant to the local context and he has been playing a vital role in advocating for the marginalized communities.

"We are proud to announce that this year, a total of 160 learners have officially graduated from various courses provided by Olad TVET. It is a moment of great pride for us to witness these learners successfully gain employment in the marketplace."

These training initiatives at Olad TVET center can contribute to the overall development of Abudwak District and its residents through the support of CISP's SETS II Project, which is co-funded by the EU.

The overall objective of the SETS II Project is to improve the educational attainment and employability of target groups in Somalia. The project also aims to enhance the capacity of public institutions to increase youth and adult participation in TVET programs linked to employment and economic opportunities, as well as to lead, monitor, and manage the education and training system.
