Mohamud Ahmed Ali TVET Graduation Ceremony

Education

September 19, 2024 Banadir

The Mohamed Ahmed Ali TVET Center celebrated its Graduation Ceremony on August 18, 2024, recognizing the accomplishments of graduates who have successfully completed their vocational training programs. The ceremony, held at the TVET Center in Mogadishu, attracted a large audience, including students, families, officials from the Banadir Regional Administration, and members of CISP.

As part of the SETS II Project, this program has successfully graduated a total of 220 learners across two batches. The first batch consisted of 117 learners (31 male and 86 female), while the second batch included 103 learners (45 male and 58 female).

This graduation marks a significant achievement in the project's objective to equip young people from diverse communities with practical skills for employment and self-reliance. The successful completion of these two cohorts highlights the program's effectiveness in providing valuable training and making a meaningful impact on participants' lives.

A total of 166 students from the two graduating cohorts at the Mohamud Ahmed Ali TVET Center received startupkits containing essential tools and resources.

These kits support the graduates in applying their newly acquired skills in the marketplace. Distributing these kits signifies a crucial step in extending the training's impact beyond education, facilitating the transition from learning to practical application.

By equipping a substantial number of graduates with these resources, the program helps bridge the gap between training and employment, empowering the youth to establish themselves in their chosen trades, contributing effectively to their communities.

Mr. Mahad Salad Tarabi, head of the institution shared insights into the future of vocational education and the vital role it plays in economic development. "Your skills and dedication are crucial to shaping the future of our communities” he said.

The head of TVET Unit, Mr. Abdirahman Ali Gutale added, “Today marks not just the end of your education, but the beginning of your journey into the workforce. As you step into your careers, remember that the skills you have acquired through our TVET programs are invaluable.”

The Graduates were recognized for their hard work and commitment, with each student called to the internship to receive their certificate. Many shared personal reflections on their journeys, expressing gratitude to their instructors and families for their support.

“CISP is extremely grateful to the management of the TVET for their crucial role in educating these remarkable learners. The start-up kits you received today are designed to help you launch your skills into the marketplace. We encourage you to establish your businesses and empower yourselves. We believe in your ability to succeed and make a difference in your communities.” Says Farah Hersi, CISP's Education Project Officer.
