Opening of Cultural Youth Hub in Mogadishu

On Monday 21st December we had the pleasure of welcoming 3 youth who will be leading the growth and management of the Youth Hub in Mogadishu Somalia; a space for creatives and youth in the creative sector to meet, network and grow their art talents.

The 3 appointed youth leaders are Omar Mohamed Abdi, Abdikarim Mohamed Ahemd and Hafsa Abshir Mohamed.

The cultural youth hub in Mogadishu was opened in response to a need for a space for creatives in Somalia where artists and people from the creative sector can converge to network, exchange ideas, co - create, host and organize trainings such as the just concluded digital storytelling workshop for Somali youth.

This hub will be a space where creatives can truly express themselves, collaborate and grow their careers.

The space will be led and managed by the youth with support from experienced hubs such as the GoDown Arts Center.

The event was also graced by members of CISP Kenya and CISP Somalia as well as the Chairman of Somali Academy of Science and Arts Abdulkadir Nur Hussein (Mah) who donated the youth hub space.
